Afnan has been making fragrance in the UAE since 2007, founded by Imran Fazlani and still run by the family. It built its reputation on a simple proposition: designer-level performance at a fraction of designer money, made in-house rather than outsourced.

The house is best known for two families. 9PM turned into one of the most recommended men's fragrances on social media - sweet, spicy, apple and vanilla over tonka, the kind of thing that fills a room. The Supremacy line runs cooler and sharper, and the Collector's Edition sits at the top of it. Turathi Blue takes the aquatic route: salt, citrus and driftwood rather than sugar.

Six Afnan fragrances sit in our range, and they genuinely do not smell alike. 9PM, 9PM Rebel and 9PM Night Out are three different readings of the same idea, and the only reliable way to tell which suits your skin is to wear each of them.

All decanted here in the UK from sealed bottles, in 2ml, 5ml and 10ml. Start with the 2ml if you are exploring; take the 10ml when you already know you want it and just want to avoid paying full-bottle prices to find out.
